Faster, higher and stronger across iGaming industry

Importance of global sport events #

Sports have long been an integral part of global culture, from the earliest form of football in ancient China, the Olympic Games in Greece, to the spectacle of the Colosseum in ancient Rome.

Through its development and becoming one of the leading software providers in the iGaming industry, NSoft has long understood the importance of atmosphere and excitement in keeping audiences around the globe entertained and engaged in sport events.

After last year's standstill, this summer has gathered worldwide audiences to watch the UEFA Champions League and these days the whole world has its eyes on the long-awaited Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020. 12500 athletes from more than 200 countries will fight for the legendary medals in 33 sports.

How did the Olympic Games begin? #

It is well known that the Greeks loved sport and the Olympic Games were the biggest sporting event in the ancient calendar. The Olympic Games began over 2,700 years ago in Olympia, in south west Greece. Every four years, around 50,000 people come from all over the Greek world to watch and take part. There were no gold, silver and bronze medals. Winners were given a wreath of leaves and a hero's welcome back home. Athletes competed for the glory of their city and winners were seen as being touched by the gods.

Initially, Olympic competition was limited to foot races, but later a number of other events were added, including wrestling, boxing, horse and chariot racing, and military competitions. The pentathlon, introduced in 708 B.C., consisted of a foot race, the long jump, discus and javelin throws, and wrestling. The first modern Olympics were held in Athens, Greece, in 1896. The man responsible for its rebirth was a Frenchman named Baron Pierre de Coubertin.

Where are the Olympics taking place in 2021? #

Officially the Games of the Olympiad, the event was originally scheduled to take place last summer, but it was postponed in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since Tokyo entered a state of emergency on Monday, July 12, the week after domestic spectators were banned from nearly all venues, amid widespread public concern about the potential spread of the virus, now the event will be held largely behind closed doors with no spectators permitted.

Unfortunately, this will surely impact the excitement surrounding the events for the audience and the lack of their engagement during each event.

The Tokyo 2020 Games will award 339 medals across 33 sports at 42 venues across Japan. Five sports are featuring for the first time ever – baseball/softball, karate, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing, while some others including basketball are newcomers. Among interesting facts is that about 12,500 athletes are taking part in Tokyo 2020, with a gender balance split of 51% male and 49% female.

Competitive atmosphere and excitement keep the sport fans coming #

Whether it's the football, basketball or horse races, once the stadiums have enticed a fan to come to a game or race, it is important to go beyond the basics. The focus is on delivering fans an experience that will keep them returning, as well as spending their time and money in other associated channels like online games, online betting and bet shops.

The interest in bookmaking goes back to the early 1790s. The world's first bookmaker was a man called Harry Ogden. A bookmaker or a bookie is a person that accepts and pays off bets on sporting and other events at agreed-upon odds.

The bookmakers aim to guarantee a profit by achieving a 'balanced book. This is achieved by "adjusting the odds" in their favour (paying out amounts using odds that are less than what they determined to be the true odds) or by having a point spread. Other methods would include getting an equal number of bets for each possible outcome or (when they are offering odds) by getting the amounts wagered on each outcome to reflect the odds.

The allure of earning fast money on their favorite sports, while enjoying the games keeps the fans’ levels of excitement up during each game. Today it is easier than ever before to deliver stats, highlights and team news during the live events and thus engage the players across channels.

Through its business development, NSoft has been devoted to creating innovative and modular software solutions for the iGaming industry. Our partnership with Sportradar and their sports brand Betradar grants that NSoft is qualified to assist operators in rapidly deploying and implementing Betradar’s entire portfolio of Gaming Solutions with just one integration via Betradar’s Remote Game Server.

Global events like the Olympics cannot go without fan engagement and sport enthusiasts. NSoft's iGaming platform with the help of our turnkey Sportsbook solution attracts new players and sport fans through in-house pro trading, accurate risk management and the biggest choice of live matches in the industry. All of our betting solutions are based on Betradar feed which incorporates hundreds of thousands sports events.

NSoft's in-house Trading team creates Live/Pre-Match offers for all customers and channels, while also doing administration and maintenance of Betradar accounts which requires a lot of knowledge of the sport, the teams, the venue, and the punters. The better the offers are for the players, the more excitement they bring while watching the matches.

One of the key postulates of the NSoft’s Trading team is the devotion to preserve the sport’s integrity. It is not as, often, wrongly perceived, to maximize profit and collect vigorish. One important part of this process is the fight against fraud and potential match-fixing. The protection of sports and all athletes is imperative, and consequently the protection of punters from putting their money on potentially rigged matches.

Faster, higher and stronger across iGaming industry #
